## Description

In order to perform a Senior Management Function (SMF), Senior Managers need to be approved by the FCA and, for dual regulated firms, the PRA. Regulators will assess whether they are fit and proper to perform the function allocated to them. Senior managers are assessed against three main factors to determine fitness and propriety. These key factors are honesty, integrity and reputation, competence and capability and financial soundness.
