Whether you are new to SM&CR or reviewing existing processes, our 3-step roadmap will help you to ensure that your corporate SM&CR training is on track.
Step 1 - Awareness video
Start with a short video "Are you aware of SMCR?" to engage with all your Conduct Rule Staff.
Overview of SM&CRFor Senior Managers (SMs) this can be supplemented with an 'Overview of SMCR'. Since the SMs will typically have had face to face briefings this module can be in test out mode, whereby knowledgeable individuals can optionally bypass the course content to demonstrate their knowledge in the assessment.
Step 2 - Conduct Rules
Embed deep knowledge of conduct rules that's required for compliance with SMCR.
This course needs to be delivered in customised versions for at least three broad categories of individuals: SMs, Certified Persons (CPs), and others. Skillcast provides these categories and more - e.g. Corporate Finance and Global Markets, should you choose to tailor the training further
Alongside the conduct rules course, we recommend that you offer whistleblowing training as it is such an important and related issue. This two comes in two versions: one for all staff and another for SMs.
Step 3: Re-engagement
Re-engage your staff with ongoing ethics and compliance training.
You may have been doing this training already, but you may want to review that to identify any gaps in this training.
