CONC - Consumer Credit Regulations

  • 40 Minutes
  • For all staff
  • jurisdiction UK

The FCA's Consumer Credit sourcebook applies to every firm carrying out credit-related regulated activity in the UK, including debt counselling and credit broking. This 40-minute course explains the purpose of CONC, the general conduct of business standards, the rules governing financial promotions, and the pre-contract requirements firms must meet.

Consumer credit attracts sustained FCA attention because the customers affected are often the least able to absorb a poor outcome. Promotions and pre-contract disclosure are where most enforcement starts. Training staff across marketing, sales and collections rather than compliance alone puts the rules in front of the people who create the risk, well before a financial promotion goes live.
