Whistleblowing is often the last line of defence when something goes wrong. This in-depth compliance course helps UK staff understand what counts as a protected concern and how to raise it safely. It covers a wide range of improper conduct: criminal offences, regulatory offences, unethical practices and conflicts of interest, as well as cover-ups, obstruction of justice and environmental damage.

Learn how the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 gives workers whistleblower protection, meaning reprisals and retaliation are unlawful, and understand the difference between internal whistleblowing and external whistleblowing, including reporting to the Financial Conduct Authority. We also look at how a whistleblowing policy and a whistleblowing hotline support anonymity and confidentiality, how senior management should respond, and how a case management system records the investigative process, in line with GDPR obligations.
